SUNSHINE ON THE NORDIC

[H&M top//H&M scarf//Zappos leggings (surprise from Doug)//Target boots//Sue Fry earrings]

It's starting to feel like Spring here. The birdies were singing this morning! It's like we just totally skipped winter; I'm still waiting for the ax to fall, to be honest. But that doesn't mean I'm not gonna enjoy every sunny minute until then! Here was my 'fake winter' outfit. Nordic leggings and no coat, how fabulous is that?! I love the challenge of making a stylish outfit that feels just as good as your pajamas, and if I can say so myself, this is a perfect example!

YOU GO GIRL!

[The awesomeness that is my beautiful friend Sam, from Style Thrice.]

How many times do I remind you, and myself, to appreciate the details? As often as possible! Because guess what, sometimes that's the only thing helping you get through it all. Even if it's just a new color combination on your girlfriend's finger nails. Cause hell, ecommerce class isn't making today any more cheery. And during those awful moments, when a gentlemen-clearly suffering from something-yells to you from across a McDonalds, "You Go Girl!" You know what, you nod your head, stride away and repeat, "You Go Girl!"

Keep your head above water-
the tide will eventually subside,

ADORE FEMME

[H&M cardigan and skirt//Target romper turned shirt// Gifted scarf//Seychelle boots]

I love layering odd pieces and repurposing things! That's why I chose to put a skirt over my romper, and voila a top instead! This was the outfit I wore for our awesome 'company date'. We went to a local pizzeria and had cooking lessons! I'll have to dish later, I'm off to a loooong day at school!

MEET MOOSE

Seriously, could your day possibly not get any better after seeing that face? This is one of my family doggies. I call him Moose. This was a snuggle sesh all the way back from our Christmas celebrations-enter the baby blue, snowflake wrapping paper. But back to the point, when I'm feeling blue, I usually crave-besides baked goods and wine-the love of my furry best friends. They know when you're feeling low, they cuddle you and look up at you with those eyes and then you can't help but feel a little warmer. So, on that note, you should stop over to the ASPCA's site and see what you can do to protect the little ones that love us.

Stopping ignorance and recognizing-
you can make a change,

BY CHERRY WAY

[Thrifted sweater//Forever21 dress//Charlotte Russe leggings//Gifted scarf//Target boots]

But honestly, what could be better than an old-man sweater and a swingy floral skirt? Maybe sunshine, glittering off the snow on one of your favorite streets. I've got this special place in my heart for rows of colorful buildings, each like their own little person, with character and quirks. You miss them when you're away; especially, if they're home to your favorite cafes and lunch spots. I've gotta say, some of the streets around here make me feel like I'm walking through different eras, even worlds. Take the one by my work for example, like an abandoned, turn of the century cowboy flick. If you pop on your headphones, you can play a song that fits the mood of your favorite street; it makes you feel like you're in your own little movie. It's fun for the morning walk in.

A TRIBUTE TO HONOR

Between my obsession with femininity, soft colors and history, there's no other explanation but for me to be in love with Honor. Honor is a NYC based fashion brand designed and run by Giovanna Randall. These are my favorite pieces from their Spring 2011 collection. Their fall 2012 show hasn't been posted online yet, but you can see their spring 2012 collection here. After having kept an eye on them for a year now, I'm excited to say I've adopted them as one of my favorite brands! And that's a slim list! What an experience it would be to be able to chat with this amazing and inspiring team.

ALL IN THE DETAILS

Here's a beautiful makeup case my roomie got me for Christmas. It has this little crystal that hangs off the zipper, it's my favorite part. Why picture this? Because during busy days like today, noticing the details makes the day slow down for just a second.

Making time subject to you,

NEW CHAPTER? HELL, STARTING A NEW BOOK

My graduating quarter is half way done. Yea. Life, as I've known it for the last 21 years, will no longer be the same. I've spent 16 of my 21 years, in school; that's more than 75% of my life! What the heck is life gonna be like without homework, or squeaky dry erase markers or last minute crunch-time-sessions-in-the-library, with practically the whole class? I realized last week, I'm gonna miss it!

But, today I start a new job. I get closer to graduation and a life I get to decide how to live. That's some pretty big britches to fill. Yet, at the same time, totally liberating. It's amazing all the options you have: from mountains to cities, God or Buddha, comfort or style, even paper or plastic. But no really, one thing I took away from the Sex and the City 2 movie was Carrie and Big's philosophy. Life doesn't have to be this black and white thing society has listed over how many centuries. Paint your life in color! Decide what you feel comfortable with, no matter what other people perceive. You've got one shot, explore every option.

A HARD WORKING WARDROBE

I love watching old movies, laughing at the quirky humor and how sneaky they were with the promiscuity. Being the honorary fashionista of the family, I catch a lot of slack for choosing style over function, I mean who wouldn't wear a cute checkered dress to a muddy pumpkin patch and hay ride?! So as of late, I've found it to be a fun challenge to be comfortable and functional, on top of being fashionable! That's why I decided to do the collage above, what a perfect example of a traveling outfit for walking from shop to shop. Fun flats, a hat for an easy morning routine, a cute poncho to protect from chilly weather and a chunky necklace to add personality. I can see myself adding a fun colored, long sleeve tee and skinnies whilst traversing the markets of Paris.

A girl can dream,

TRADITIONS

[Urban Behavior blazer//Trinity dress//XXI tights//ModCloth bag//Steve Madden heels]

Well, I guess it's time to pass on the tradition. When I was little-well old enough to dress myself-my mom and I always ended up matching in one way or another. Turns out, Doug and I did the same thing on our date this week. And look at the color we chose! I mean, what are the chances of that? Guess that says something about us.

AWAY FROM THE DINING TABLE

I really love cooking, but I love dining out even more. So when I cook, I sometimes pick unusual places to sit down and eat. This time in particular, I chose to sit on my back porch during sunset. It was comical eating my fancy little pizza and wine on a paper plate and rickety old porch. But it was also beautiful and pretty therapeutic. I find that this keeps the spontaneity and teaches you to see/experience new things. I totally recommend it! Maybe even pack it up and drive to your local park.

A BEAUTIFUL LABEL

[Thrifted jean jacket//H&M dress and scarf//Target tights//OPI nail polish]

Yesterday was beautiful! I couldn't get over how the sun felt on my skin. It tingled as the vitamin D and vitamin H (happiness, that is) soaked in. Here are some details from the day.

To the little surprises-
like sun in winter,
