Life is a labyrinth of complex decisions to be made, all tied to emotions that complicate them. If we stepped back and tried to absorb the whole picture we'd swell and burst before we could appreciate its perfectly, imperfect composition. So instead, I'm choosing to remind myself to zoom in. To allow myself to be gitty about little things. Silly things that reflect where we are and where we wanna go. For contemplating world peace doesn't bring peace of mind. When one contemplates life, they consider all the things they haven't done, all the things they want to do. A slippery slope that leads to endless lists and unchecked items. Instead find joy in what you do have, in things you can achieve in the near future. I once heard a quote that resembled: keep your dreams in your heart and your mind on the present. That's when I thought, if I could sprinkle everyday with the hope of tomorrow, appreciation for the present and silly things that resemble my ideas, one day I'll zoom out and realize the pictures been there all along.
