CHAINS ON CHAINS ON CHAINS

My new obsession is bib necklaces. I find it funny how you can hate something and then end up wearing/loving it. I layered a few necklaces in this picture to add some interest to a boat neck-an always favorite.

In other news...on FashBar we always talk about following your dreams and persevering and fighting for it, so I figured I'd share with you what I was doing today. Well folks, I'm blogging from the financial district in NYC! I bought the tickets yesterday, took THREE over night buses, and got here at 10 am! I wandered around Times Square for a bit, grabbed a bite and hopped on the subway. Now I'm  waiting for an interview to start! Never thought I'd be one to hop on a train and just do it. Kinda feels cool to say I did, though. And I must say, New Yorkers have a bad rap and I'm not sure why! They've always been so nice to me, in my three trips here. So don't assume guys!

Anyway, should practice some interview responses. ;)

Wish me luck,
Elisa

TREND RECIPE 004

Switching it up a bit for Trend Recipe 004! I decided to put them into outfit form instead of collage form, what do you all think? This Trend Recipe revolves around music festivals; with the rise of Coachella, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo a new look has burst onto the fashion scene. Let's call it The Festival Goer.

The FG is all about a laid back feel, wearing bold colors and mixing lots of patterns. It resembles the LA feel and often incorporates old rock and roll style. So why is it showing up on Fashionista Barista, you ask? Because I, my friends, got to go to my very first Barn Jam on friday...and it rocked!!!! You might be surprised to know I'm into folk-y music, and thats what friday was all about. The Kalob Griffin Band was a smash! I highly recommend you check them out, they're great soul music. They've been stuck in my head all day! Check out the fun we had:

URBAN POLKA

{Target sunnies, skinnies and flats. ModCloth top. Vest-can't remember.}

I love my new, HUGE sunglasses. Matter of fact, I picked the biggest ones in Target! They're so great, except when they slide down my sweaty nose. Ew. And these new flats, so comfortable! They have  cloth inside-which is a great alternative to leathery insides-for people with sweaty feet...aka me. Ew, again.

I decided to finally try the transparent-top-thing. I liked it, over all. I loved how billowy it was! I can tell it will be quite versatile. The weather here in Pittsburgh is B-E-A-UTIFUL! Sunny and just brisk enough to stay cool. Perfect for my love of layering.

All in all life has been great these past few days, despite my missing Manfriend...Vegas stole him! But, don't worry, I get him back Sunday. Then life will be perfect again.

T-minus 39 hrs-
or so,
Elisa :)
