GIRL CRUSH

Ever find a new blog and fall in love?! Well I have. A few weeks back I found Sydney of The Daybook. I spent hours on her site. I went back to her very first posts and worked forward, watching her style evolve. It was so fun! Almost like reading a book but, with pretty pictures.

She's so sweet and funny, and honest. Not sure I'd ever have the guts to talk about being stuck in the bathroom, though I admire her carefree ability to. She's my age but she's happily married, crazy right. I'm a cheesepuff, full of corny-lovey-dovey-goodness, and getting to hear about her and her husbands great relationship puts a smile on my face. She helps me believe in happily ever after.

Besides that, shes got great style-already borrowing some ideas, model-worthy looks and she's great in front of the camera, something I'm still working on. Here are some of my favorite pictures from The Daybook. Enjoy.

Update- Congrats on the beautiful baby bump Syd!

To blog envy,
Elisa

FBIP: BARCELONA WILD NIGHTLIFE

After some delay-on my part-FashBar will have a Fashionista Barista International Project series again. But this time, instead of redoing the site to be solely international, we'll have guest posts from Amanda ever so often. If you are unfamiliar with the FBIP click here for more info. Enjoy:

Barcelona, the city where the night never ends. Ironically, our trip to the party capital of the world landed on the weekend of my friend, Taylor’s, 21st birthday. Already being legal in Europe certainly did not stop her from celebrating her big two-one.

Despite arriving at the hostel at 1 am, the staff talked us into celebrating at the bars and clubs on the beach. In a rush to get ready, black skirts and fancy tops were thrown on and the high heals were strapped. We were dressed to impress.
With gifted toasts of champagne, rounds of Long Islands and hours upon hours of dancing with new friends at the Catwalk club, Taylor’s 21st birthday celebration was a success.

The following morning, we found a cozy set of rocks at the beach to soak up some sun, as we fueled our tummies with carbs, cheese and sangria. A different world compared to London’s rainy, foggy weather-where we were studying full-time. And we weren’t complaining.

Sangria soaking in, we spent the day posing for silly pictures in front of famous Spanish monuments and buildings, and riding on a cable car above a view of the entire city; we were sure to take full advantage of the warm weather and sunshine.

For dinner we went local with seafood paella and tortilla de patatas, homemade drinks, and another trip to la playa for a night of dancing and partying on the beaches of ‘Lona. Later, we scored VIP status and were treated to a private area and more free drinks! A perfect ending to a much needed weekend to let loose.

To those in need of a fun night out,
or just a glass of Spanish Sangria,
Amanda

RED ON RED AND PRINTS

Now that most of us are back from lunch and the weekend is only hours away, lets help the time pass with some outfit pictures! I LOVE my new H&M skirt and tunic, they're both so soft and flowy. They're going to be staples in my summer wardrobe for sure; well honestly, they're all I have of a summer wardrobe as of yet. They were so inexpensive too, I highly recommend you guys stop by.

I'm off for now! I've got TONS to do! Life of a fresh fashionista...

Here's to hoping it all works out-
Happy weekend,
Elisa

LITTLE HINTS: MIRROR HOUSE

Due to a Blogger malfunction, I've lost all the info from this post. :( And unfortunately, I couldn't even begin to rewrite this post. So I've attached what I have of the previous post and the pictures. Sorry!

"It's funny how taking the time to look around your house can tell you something about yourself. How everything little has a story, whether important or just silly. I'd have to say my room being swamped in papers says a little about my brain, bursting with ideas and sketches and blurbs of words..."

So bummed,
Elisa

FRIDAY IVY

{h&m scarf and shirt, american eagle necklace, thrifted blazer, charlotte russe jeans and sandals, gifted bracelet}

I've got lots of catching up to do for uni! So I've gotta dine and dash-er, post and dash. But before I go, I wanna tell you about this awesome H&M shirt. It was so unbelievably soft and just long enough to wear with skinnies or leggings. Even The Manfriend noticed how soft it was-I admit, I even slept in it!  Best part is, it was $9.95! Although, beware it is a little sheer. Is anyone else dying for H&M to finally launch their US site?!

Check out the new pose! I'm starting to get the hang of this outfit post thing; well, I hope you like it. Also, big thanks to all my ladies for helping with photos lately, today's pictures brought to you by Kati.

Because school works important-
Talk to you guys soon,
Elisa

LAYER DETAILS

{billowy tops layered, bowling-inspired bag, Os Doux Jewelry earrings-as promised}
{you didn't think I'd leave you without a full outfit picture too, did you?}

A Spring day in Pittsburgh, means temps in the 40s and rain. It also means the snooze button gets some lovin'. That being said, I'm kinda liking it; it makes for lots of layers and hot, hot tea and not feeling so bad when you're stuck inside all day. I don't know if I've ever let you guys know, but I'm ALWAYS cold. So when I saw the temperature and the rain this morning, I got serious about getting dressed and practically put on every layer I own. I like how it turned out though, I felt so comfortable despite my sore feet. A special thanks to Sammie and Cort for helping me with photos today. Maybe we'll be wearing shorts by June. ;)

Secretly loving layers and scarves-
don't tell the summer lovers,
Elisa

FLY STRAIGHT AND TRUE

How sweet are these?! These pretty birds, entitle "fly straight and true", are from Os Doux Jewelry. The designer and crafter of all the beautiful, bold pieces is Danielle, you've seen her on FashBar before. As if she wasn't talented enough-she's a kick butt photographer-she had to go and rock at jewelry designing too.

I came to work one day and these confections were perched on the desk, just for me! Talk about sweet surprises. It was one of those moments that reminds you, it's all about the little things. I, of course, wore an outfit around them the very next day. I didn't get a picture of the ensemble, and since I couldn't wait to show you, these will have to do for now. You can rest assured they'll show face-er, beak-on FashBar again soon.

P.S. Her pieces are handmade and of really good quality. Best part? They're super affordable! So check them out. Thanks again Danielle!!

Don't let the little things fly by
without appreciating them,
Elisa
