MY FIRST STEVIES!

My best score in NYC was two pairs of Steve Maddens, for basically the price of one!  Sam and I went on FNO.  Imagine Black Friday, now pump it full of steriods and you still can't picture how crazy Steve Madden was that night.  I must admit though, the sales people there were absolutely pleasant even amongst the madness.  I haven't been able to get my feet out of these!  There are so cute! And so comfortable.  I've been dreaming of these shoes for so long!  I guess good things come to those who wait.  I hope that's true in every aspect.

Here's to hoping,

LOOK WHO I MET!!

Coco Rocha, Canadian-born supermodel!!  Two weeks ago-can't believe it's been that long already-when I was in NYC for fashion week, Sam and I attended the Rimmel event at Reiss.  We got to meet, and take a photo with, one of the most famous models today!  Funny thing is I recently stumbled upon Coco; it was only weeks before getting to meet her.  I was doing my usual blog perusing and fashion-site research when I came across her wedding video.  She looked beautiful!!  And even more so in person. You can go here to learn more about her and here to see her beautiful wedding video...definitely a must see!

I felt so cool!

PS Please excuse my FNO outfit, I wasn't feeling good that day and did a crappy job at getting ready...I should've known better.

SCRAMBLED OMELETTE

First day of Fall break and I've got a little extra time, so I've decided to do a food post today [its been a while].  I spent the weekend in Vermont for my boyfriend's sister's wedding, and it was beautiful.  But to get to the point, we spent every morning together as a group, a HUGE group, eating and chitchatting.  To be honest I'm not a fan of breakfast food, I usually just eat lunch for breakfast.  But after this weekend, I'm a little more keen to the whole idea.  So I took this morning to reflect on all the morning goodies and put my own twist on it.

I chopped up half an onion and let that saute on its own for a bit; to make them sweet, not burnt, let them sit on medium heat for several minutes; to get the tiniest bit of great 'caramelized onion' taste, without being patient enough to actually caramelize them, sprinkle some sugar and a tad of water over them while they sit.  I then chopped, and threw in, tomatoes and yellow peppers.
I cracked some eggs in a bowl, added a splash of water [to make them fluffier] and poured it over my sauteed veggies.
I'm a huge advocate of 'making it work', so after having attempted to make an omelette and watching it fall apart, I decided to make my Ol' Famous Scrambled Omelette.
While the eggs were hoppin' around the pan I put together the sides, toasted a slice of bread...
...and rinsed raspberries from the local farm. [Check out the new American Apparel nail polish]
I paired it all with yummy blueberry green tea [my original favorite tea] and relaxed while I filled my belly.

So glad to have a break,
Elisa

GIFTS JUST BECAUSE

Wanted to show you an outfit I wore a few days back; I was sure to jump into some fall attire as soon as the weather broke.  Figured I'd show a little love with my "I [HEART] My Boyfriend" tank.  Ironically enough, he was sweet enough to take these photos for you.  As for the blazer, I just recently discovered how great the sleeves look scrunched up; I didn't realize I could do it before...but I'm so glad I did.
Check out my headband, my boyfriend's sister (Laura) made it for me, just because she could :)  It's really simple and totally adorable!!  Wanna know how? Wanna see a DIY post about it, let me know!
Gotta run off to take a final!

Wish me luck,
Elisa

BACK FROM NYC

I had such a blast in NYC this week.  I have to admit, I just may have been bitten by the Big Apple Bug. I know posting was sparse this week, so I wanted to stop in (on an unusual day) and give you a heads up.  I took LOTS of video this week.  I will be editing it and posting it as soon as I can.  Finals are this week, which means, I'll be frantically running around. So hang in there with me.

Can't wait to get back to blogging,

MUSIC CRUSH

Being my honorary European self (total goof, I know), I'm sure you're not surprised to know that I have a serious crush on music from across the pond.  I love listening to Girls Aloud (thanks to my bestie Jane), Cheryl Cole, The Plasticines (newly found), Brigitte Bardot, the list goes on.  But this Sunday the opening act for Maroon 5, SQUEAL, was V.V. Brown.  A beautiful singer with an even prettier voice, originally based out of West London. She was fantastic! She has an amazingly low voice, which gives her a funky feel! I tagged her with Sade and Toni Braxton. She was a bit more rocker in person than on her album, where it's more retro.  She had great energy and was awesome at interacting with the crowd. What really sold me, though? She wasn't afraid to drop F bombs, and took off her shoes mid-set!! Done deal. I was in love ;)

(cellphone camera, sorry for the blurriness)

So I've attached some of my favorite songs off her new CD (which I bought a copy of and had signed!! eek!).  Let me know what you think.  It was great for the car ride into school this morning and I can picture myself getting through chores faster with the help of lovely V.V.

You might know this one. And here's an interview and snippet about how she made her Leave video.

Let music touch your heart
and affect your day,
Elisa
